Your dentist will first determine the correct shade of resin colour to use that closely matches the colour of your natural teeth. The surface of your teeth will then be roughened, and a liquid will be applied that allows the bonding agent to stick to the tooth. The composite resin is then applied over the liquid, and your dentist molds or shapes the tooth and then hardens the material with a special ultraviolet light. If necessary, the tooth can be further shaped after the resin hardens. The entire procedure typically takes between 30-60 minutes, although sometimes it may run longer depending on the extent of your circumstances. Dental bonding is a natural looking option; most people do not even realize you have a bonded tooth unless you decide to tell them!
